Lidl’s Baresa Pitted Green Olives in Brine cost £0.89, which is an excellent price for olives! These olives tasted great and were great to use in many recipes I cooked over the week!
These olives are great when cooked in a stew- they’re pretty briny while also being slightly sweet and the pleasant type of bitter. The texture is quite meaty rather than mushy (which, unfortunately, some low-quality olives are), which makes it a splendid experience when eating the olives.
If you’re going to drain the olives, please make sure you use them within three days, as after I drained them, I realised that their quality had diminished slightly. Perhaps keeping the brine inside will make them last somewhat longer when opened.

I’ve been eating these in salads, and the saltiness and slight sweetness of the olives change the salad entirely to a different level of greatness. Soft cheese also makes it taste better. Along with this, I’ve baked them into bread before, and they added much-needed moisture and made the bread much more delicious! I also used the brine for a stew – elevating the flavour so much!
Overall, the Baresa Pitted Green Olives are something that you definitely should not miss as they are amazing for the price!
