Lidl’s Tower Gate Jaffa Cakes Review

Lidl’s Tower Gate Jaffa Cakes comes in a pack of 24 Jaffa Cakes at the price of £1.19- which makes each jaffa cake come at a cost of £0.04-£0.05 each! Needless to say- these are just like the originals and taste amazing!

Unfortunately, compared to other Jaffa Cakes- these ones did not have a more jellied center in the cake but rather it felt more like mushy like jam. I prefer the more congealed version as it has a better feel in your mouth. The filling however, tastes almost exactly the same – so for taste there’s no complaints. You can however, put the Jaffa Cakes into the fridge for a bit and they will have a more authentic gelly rather than it being like jam.

After chilling them- the chocolate layer becomes crunchier and more satisfying to bite into too.

I had accidentally left out one of these Jaffa Cake’s and it got stale but this kind of made it better as it was now quite crunchy when biting into the Jaffa cake. The slight chocolate layer was noticeable when you ate the cake which added to its loveliness!

I give them a 4.5/5 rating due to the above!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
