I got Lidl’s Belgian Style Hazelnut & Chocolate Flavour Bar on the Dutch and Belgian week they’re doing – these cost only £2.09, which is quite pricy for Lidl’s chocolate, but believe me- it’s good!
It is velvety and extraordinarily creamy on your first bite of this chocolate. The nougat-flavoured section of the chocolate nestles itself above the milk chocolate and lends a decadent hazelnut flavour. While these flavours work in your mouth, they will melt and feel satisfying. I ate a lot of this chocolate as it’s hard not to eat more.
The chocolate is not too sweet, it has just the right amount not to be bitter nor vomit-inducingly sweet. This is quite a common theme in the enjoyment of this chocolate as everything is well balanced, and the flavours of the chocolate, hazelnut and sweetness come after one another when you bite off a chunk of it.
I chilled the rest of the chocolate to see if its flavour or anything changed if you chilled the chocolate. It didn’t change- it stayed as velvety and creamy as before and wasn’t hard! Though I enjoy the crunch more, I like that this chocolate’s structure doesn’t change when hot or cold.
