Home2 Suites by Hilton River North, Chicago Review

From the 10th to the 12th of June 2024 I stayed in the Home2 Suites by Hilton in Chicago during NeoCon 2024. The suites are extremely spacious and have both relaxing and comfortable beds along with a large bathroom and a kitchen space for you to cook in!

In the space I stayed in, there was no mini-bar luckily and there wasn’t anything that I thought could add extra charges- so you can be quite worry-free (but always make sure to ask for anything that causes a charge to be removed from the rooms beforehand anyway!).

The view from the room was not the best but the windows in the room that we got had a lot of sunshine in the morning which was brilliant as it gave us a much needed boost!

The Kitchen

The small kitchenette came packaged with a big refrigerator, a microwave and other appliances- though to our dismay; the dishwasher was not in service at the time. You could also request a skillet and a portable hob if you needed one from the reception at no extra charge which is brilliant if you’re staying for a longer time and enjoy cooking!

When we arrived- the first thing we did was to check the utensils and ceramics for any stains- as we did find some on a few of the plates. If this is a issue, however, the staff at this location are very friendly and will replace/clean them very quickly!

The Bathroom

The only downside to the suite was the shower/bathtub as the controls on the shower water system are quite difficult to use and the massive shower (above the smaller one) spews water everywhere and cannot be moved. Therefore, I will suggest you to take a bath rather than a shower at this location if you have the same issue.

The wallpaper in the bathroom was a nice addition as it helped make the room look very clean and warm! The items they supplied were great too; they gave around four towels and a few face towels along with makeup remover, face cream and hand wash. The towels are super supple and soft and really feel great on your skin, especially after you get out of the shower- I usually get allergies from a lot of fabrics but these did not trigger anything.

The closet they gave us was spacious and comes with a few hangers and an iron along with the ironing rack. There is also another closet in the kitchen as well which may not be pictured in the article however.

Home2 Suites Conclusion and other information

Other interesting quirks about the room that we got was that it came with a thermostat- though it wouldn’t go higher than 77 Fahrenheit; which could be an issue if you want a warmer room. However, it was the start of summer at the time we stayed so it was really nice to walk into a cool and chilling room.

The hotel breakfast wasn’t that great though but you will get more food than a lot of other places but the food quality is mediocre- mostly eggs, cereal, yoghurt and bread. Though you can get unlimited drinks throughout the day (juice too!) which is really great as it gets hot.

The price of the rooms are around $205 per night and they really are the quality you pay for as the rooms are both huge and they are extraordinarily in good quality! Along with this the staff and reception are really polite and kind and will help you with any issue you come across. Overall, I would rate the Home2 Suites as 4.5/5 with all the above together!
