Gong Cha is a Boba Tea chain which is usually great but unfortunately this location is anything but great. I found that they don’t give you the correct orders and the staff look like they don’t care at all.
I ordered 1 Taro drink and a Aiyu Grapefruit and White Peach drink (both with 50% sugar). They gave me 2 70% sugar Aiyu Grapefruit drinks… I was being quite clear when ordering too but it seemed like the cashier was clearly not listening to us or any other customer when they ordered. If you look on their Google Reviews you can see that there’s similar reviews to mine if you press on the one star reviews.
The drink itself had way too much syrup and was quite thick. Alongside this, it had some kinds of gelatinous globs inside of it. It wasn’t really a nice sensation drinking them up and they felt strange and gross.
Disappointingly, you cannot get a tip refund after you get your service even if it’s terrible. It’s honestly stupid that you can’t and you should only be able to tip after you get the drink. The staff at the location are extremely entitled and will attempt to charge you again if you tell them that your order was wrong.
If this is the way that they treat customers then it looks like this franchise is probably not going to last long. The inside is uninviting and the staff are just plain rude. If you’re looking for a Gong Cha to go to; make sure you consider a different location.
