Lidl’s Vemondo Organic Almond Milk Review

This is a review of the original version of the Vemondo Organic Almond Plant Based Milk which costs around £0.99. It is half price compared to the more branded choices that you can find.

Vemondo Organic Almond Milk

The flavour tastes toasty and roasted which gives the drink a lot of depth and calms the aftertaste making it easier to drink than other brands which sometimes have bad aftertastes. Unfortunately, it is not as creamy as their soya milk which is the area I have an issue with- it’s simply quite watery. Looking at the ingredients its obvious there’s not that much almond in this milk which it sits around 2.3% almond.

In comparison to Vemondo’s other plant-based milks; it does not stand well against them. The oat milk that they sell is much more creamier and works really well in coffee or milk tea. This milk does not work that great in coffee’s or tea, or any warm drink in general. However, in comparison to other brands- this one contains way less almond percentage. Though- that can be argued due to its price as almonds are quite expensive especially in milk form.

Vemondo Almond Milk Ingredients

The ingredients inside of this milk are: Water, Cane Sugar, 2.3% Almonds, Sea Salt, Stabiliser: Gellan Gum, Emulsifier: Sunflower Lecithins.

While the nutritional information per serving (200ml) is: 3.0g fat (0.2g of which saturates), 5.6g Carbohydrates (5.4g of which sugars), 0.4g fibre, 1.0g protein and 0.22g salt.

Overall, this is a great milk despite the shortcomings but make sure to get it on a deal as the soya milk is much better. I managed to pick up some of these plant-based milks for only £0.50 on Friday which is rare but it sometimes happens! You should make sure to check out the Lidl Plus app for these deals as you can pick them up pretty cheaply.
