Lidl Freeway Ginger Ale Review

This is a review of the Lidl Freeway Ginger Ale (the low calorie version) which costs £0.55. It is a cheap bottle of 1L of the ginger ale.

Unfortunately, the Lidl Freeway Ginger Ale is quite a disappointment. The flavor is quite difficult to notice and I don’t find any spicy kick to it. Furthermore, the drink claims to have a ‘fiery flavor’ but there is none. The carbonation is very minimal and there’s barely any fizz action.

Lidl Freeway Ginger Ale

The drink is also listed as a ‘ginger flavor’ drink rather than a drink with ginger. I did not find any ginger in the ingredients and there is only ‘natural flavoring’. This could potentially show that it has ginger or not.

There is sweetness to the drink but the sweetness tastes rather chemically. Other than this taste- it is just bland and tasteless. There is such a large amount of improvement that this product can have to even give it a resemblance of ginger ale.

Overall, I am very disappointed by the ‘ginger’ ale. The sweetness tastes chemically while there is no spiciness you’d expect with ginger. Perhaps there might be none at all. There is barely any carbonation too. Instead of getting this you should get the ginger cordial or the ginger shots. Then purchase your own carbonated water or sparkling water and add them. It may be slightly more pricier but it’s way worth it. Avoid this product and purchase another brands ginger ale.
