Everyday Essentials Dark Chocolate Aldi Review

The Everyday Essentials Dark Chocolate from Aldi costs £0.49 each. Each pack contains 100g of chocolate and it’s honestly quite a good quality chocolate for the price.

Everyday Essentials Dark Chocolate from Aldi

The inside of the chocolate is quite grainy and chalky. This does indicate that the chocolate was made cheaply; but this should be expected. Once biting into the Everyday Essentials Dark Chocolate- it’s a loud sharp snap. It’s extremely crunchy and this helps to aide the overall mouthfeel of the chocolate. There is a slight creaminess to it but that’s really it for the smoothness. After the mouthfeel elements- you will find it is a bitter chocolate.

This is great for a dark chocolate- as good dark chocolate is bitter but also pleasant. There is a slight astringency to this chocolate, however. The chocolate melts quite easily slightly above room temperature and it seems quite good for cooking. I found another mouthfeel after eating a few bites out of it. It’s quite hydrophobic and creates a strange texture inside of your mouth which is uncomfortable.

Pricewise- it is slightly more expensive than Lidl’s dark chocolate by £0.04 though I find that it tastes much more better!

Everyday Essentials Dark Chocolate Aldi Review Conclusion

The appearance of the chocolate is simple but pretty. It has a nice waxy sheen on the top of the chocolate that contributes to a smooth appearance.

Personally, I find that the chocolate could be improved with a bit of salt inside. This would make its flavors more apparent and quite a bit more pleasant. Though overall, the chocolate is delicious for its price and has a nice texture in your mouth. However, the graininess could be reduced inside of the chocolate. Therefore, it’s a recommended chocolate- cheap, tasty and a great mouthfeel!
